What is Broomball?
Broomball is a sport similar to hockey. It is played on ice. No skating is required! Instead of skates, players use special shoes that have grip. Instead of a puck, a ball is used. The rules, strategies, and skills used in broomball are almost identical to those of hockey. Broomball is a much safer than hockey as hitting and body checking are not allowed. Because there is no skating required, broomball is easy to learn how to play. If you can run, you can play broomball! While having hockey experience is great, it is not necessary. Broomball skills are easily learned and are similar to those found in many other sports such as soccer, lacrosse, tennis, and baseball. It’s a great way to get in a fun workout and meet new people!
